You, as a data scientist
You’ll sit at the heart of our pricing brain, responsible for both research and production. You’ll design, optimize, and deploy algorithms that determine what products should cost – today, tomorrow, and across entire assortments.
Your key responsibilities:
You will design and implement data pipelines using Python (Pandas, Polars), build and optimize models for demand forecasting, seasonality, price elasticity, profit and inventory optimization, and campaign effectiveness, then integrate and deploy them via simple APIs and AWS infrastructure (S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, EFS); you’ll also apply business rules and safeguards, collaborate with frontend teams to visualize insights clearly, maintain ETL workflows, and solve complex multi-objective problems—like maximizing profit while clearing inventory—with smart optimization logic.
What you bring
Required skills:
You bring solid Python skills (the kind forged in daily Jupyter duels), deep fluency in Pandas or Polars (survivors of both get bonus points), and a strong grasp of statistical modeling, machine learning, and forecasting; you’ve deployed algorithms into real-world production environments, built APIs to serve models or query data, navigated AWS (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB) like home, and worked with formats like SQL, Parquet, and DuckDB. All while effortlessly turning business goals into smart, scalable technical solutions.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of retail pricing mechanics and discounting strategies.
- Experience with performance optimization and parallelization.
- Familiarity with Arrow format and data serialization techniques.
- A background in mathematical programming or optimization algorithms.
- Understanding of data visualization and BI tools.
